The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine under the hood of the 2020 430i Gran Coupe makes a return with this 2022 model, albeit in a slightly more powerful tune. It produces 255 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque and the power goes to the rear wheels as standard. You could also get it with the optional xDrive AWD drivetrain.

The 8-speed ZF-sourced torque converter automatic transmission coupled with the torquey turbocharged motor helps the 2022 BMW 430i Gran Coupe to do the 0-60 MPH run in just 6.2 seconds. The quarter-mile time of 14 seconds is quite excellent too. In comparison, the 2022 Audi A5 Sportback does the 0-60 MPH in 6.4 seconds.

This is one area that is going to have mixed opinions from people since the 2022 BMW 430i Gran Coupe comes with the BMW's new design with the massive kidney grille. However, it does stand out well from the likes of the Audi A5 Sportback and Kia Stinger, especially when viewed from the front end.

The LED headlights with LED DRLs, functional air vents, and the long and masculine hood completes the front view. The side profile gets sharp character lines, a sloping roofline, and beautiful 19" alloy wheels. It is quite a lot longer than the older generation as well. Launched at a base MSRP of $45,200 for the RWD variant and $47,900 for the xDrive AWD variant, the 2022 BMW 430i Gran Coupe hasn't seen a huge price hike from the older 2020 model. This new generation 430i Gran Coupe is only about $500 more than the earlier iteration, and when considering the upgrades it has received, it is quite a value proposition.

This model is also loaded to the brim with many more techs and features that the 2020 model missed out on. Get into the front seats of the 2022 BMW 430i Gran Coupe and you would have no complaints regarding the space and comfort. The seats are generously supportive for having a fuss-free traveling experience and the headroom and legroom are perfectly alright.

However, the rear seat isn't going to be the most comfortable out there. The headroom of 37.6" turned out to be lower than the segment rivals and the shoulder room isn't the best either. Nevertheless, the fastback architecture offers great versatility and decent cargo capacity with the split-folding rear seat functionality.
