The new 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara is priced between Rs 10.45 lakh and 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in Smart Hybrid and Intelligent Electric Hybrid variants. On the other hand, the Kia Seltos comes with a price range of Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV comes in two broad trims – Tech (HT) Line and GT Line.

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is powered by a 1.5-liter intelligent hybrid powertrain that outputs 68kW (92.45PS) of peak power and 122Nm of max torque. A 1.5-liter engine option offers 75.8kW (103.06PS) and 136.8Nm of peak power and max torque. The Smart Hybrid variants get 6-speed Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters and 5-speed Manual. However, the Intelligent Electric Hybrid variants get e-CVT transmission. The new car offers impressive fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl with the 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain and 21.11 kmpl with the Petrol option.

On the other hand, the Kia Seltos is powered by 1.5-litre (offering 115PS/ 144Nm) and 1.4-liter turbocharged Petrol (offering 140PS/ 242Nm) engines. Both units are paired to a 6-speed manual as standard. You can also choose a 7-speed DCT (1.4-litre turbo-petrol) and a CVT (1.5-liter petrol). The 1.5-litre diesel (offering 115PS/ 250Nm) option comes with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The new Kia Seltois offers fuel efficiency of 16.5kmpl for the petrol manual and 16.8kmpl for the petrol-CVT variants. While the diesel 6-speed AT offers fuel efficiency of 18kmpl, the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol DCT comes with a claimed mileage of 16.5kmpl (16.1kmpl with the manual).

In terms of design, the Vitara comes with the signature NEXA design elements. It features a bold SUV stance with muscular wheel arches and a 3-element sweeping LED tail lamp. On the front, the 3-element LED DRLs come with an integrated turn-lamp. The NEXWave Grille comes with hi-gloss black and dark chrome accentuation. While the Intelligent Electric Hybrid option gets a “Fervent Dark Chrome” finish on the front grille garnish and the Progressive Smart Hybrid variants get a “RichChrome” finish. Additionally, the new car gets a crafted instrument panel (IP), panoramic sunroof, rich faux leather with matching accents on the doors, and piano black finishes in the cabin. Additional features include 3D sculpted driver & co-driver ventilated seats. The new car comes in 6 monotone color options and 3 Dual-tone color options.

Just like Vitara, the Kia Seltos also sports a muscular and modern design. On the outside, it looks blingy and grand. The front facia features the LED headlamps along with an LED strip and LED DRLs, that run across the width of the car on the nose, a large signature Tiger Nose grille with chrome outlines, and vertical LED fog lamps on the bumper and skid plates. On the sides, the 17-inch Crystal Cut Alloys with red brake calipers and floating roof rails make the car look sporty. On the rear, the most striking features include a chrome bar that connects the two LED heartbeat Tail lamps, Rear Spoiler, Shark Fin Antenna, and much more.

The new Maruti Grand Vitara is based on the acclaimed Suzuki TECT platform (Global C-platform). It comes with NEXA Safety Shield. Additional safety features include 6 airbags (Front, Side & curtain), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, 3-point ELR seat belts (All seats), and Rear Disc Brake, Hill Descent Control, and Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
